Concord Road Equipment: History & Present

Since 1976, Concord Road Equipment has been dedicated to providing our customers with excellent service, quality products, and a commitment to technology.

Concord Road Equipment was founded by Glen Warfield to meet a specific equipment need of disbursing material to the berm of a roadway effectively and efficiently. The solution that was designed became known as the “Berming Machine” and Concord Road Equipment was born. The “Berming Machine” was built, assembled and painted in Glen’s garage, after hours with the help of his son Jeff. With extensive mechanical and heavy equipment repair backgrounds, the two decided early that the equipment built would have to be heavy duty, mechanic friendly, reliable, and dependable by using only the highest quality parts and supplies available..

In 1984 Concord Road Equipment moved into a 6,000 sq.ft. building in Painesville Ohio and began up-fitting municipal snow & ice control trucks for the local market, and expanded the manufactured product line to include designing and manufacturing other road equipment pieces such as heated asphalt haulers, tar kettles, leaf & chip boxes, under tailgate spreaders, chip spreaders, hydraulic post pullers, and more..

Business continued to grow to the extent that a new, larger facility would be needed to meet the needs of the customers. In 1994, Concord Road Equipment moved to the current location, a 30,000 sq. ft. facility located at 348 Chester Street, Painesville..

Today, Concord Road Equipment has products around the globe, from Hawaii to Russia. Concord continues to grow while maintaining a commitment to quality and excellence in all areas. Concord Road Equipment serves customers in many industries including municipal, industrial, commercial, agricultural, construction, transportation, mining, and manufacturing; and in multiple capacities including consulting, design, fabrication, welding, installation, maintenance, repair, assembly, and more..

“We’re very pleased with the progress we’ve made over the past 30 years. We also look back with a great deal of gratitude to the support we have received from our loyal customers,” said Jeff Warfield, President of Concord Road Equipment, during a 30th anniversary celebration, “Moving forward to the next 30 years our focus will remain on providing the highest quality products and services for our customers. I would once again like to thank all of those responsible for the success of Concord Road Equipment Mfg., Inc., our customers, our vendors, and our employees.”.
